Duncan Meade

Manager, New Energy Technologies
Enbridge Inc.

Duncan has a passion for new and emerging energy technologies and is directly involved in Enbridge’s longer term decarbonization objectives. Building on his engineering studies in the UK, Duncan worked as a post-doctoral fellow at UBC, prior to roles in industrial process automation and the development of industrial-scale biomass gasification technology. He opted to further his education by completing an MBA in business strategy, leading to a role within Enbridge’s Emerging Technology team. Following roles in Enbridge’s Renewable Power and Corporate Strategy teams, he is now working to develop new business opportunities using low-carbon energy technologies.

Long term decarbonization will be essential to address climate change and its increasingly destructive impact, as recently demonstrated by this summer’s ‘heat dome’ and the recent flooding in Western Canada. Alberta must play a leading role in decarbonizing Canada’s, and North America’s, energy supply.
