Ericka Rios, Clean Technology Manager at Alberta Innovates, has over 15 years of experience in clean energy and sustainability. Her career includes significant contributions to clean technologies and energy production. As a manager, she oversees hydrogen and Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) projects, focusing on hydrogen production innovation and next-gen carbon capture solutions. Ericka’s educational background includes a Chemical Engineering degree from Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia and an M.Sc. in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering from the University of Calgary.
Before joining Alberta Innovates, Ericka held roles such as New Ventures Analyst, new technologies project Engineer at CNOOC, and at InnoTech Alberta, where she worked on cross-sectoral clean technology initiatives. Outside of her professional life, Ericka is an avid athlete, having completed two 70.3 Ironman competitions, and enjoys cooking, particularly her renowned lasagna. Her passion for coffee adds to her vibrant and dynamic persona, embodying dedication and expertise in advancing clean technologies.
