Chevron Canada Limited

Stephen Edison has 20+ years’ experience in upstream oil & gas, including international assignments in London and Bangkok. Over the course of his career, Stephen has supported developments in both onshore and offshore environments from early concept selection, front-end engineering, operations, and asset retirement. Following a move to Calgary in 2016, Stephen supported the Chevron-operated Kaybob-Duvernay development in northern Alberta, and field asset retirement activities in northeastern BC.

In both cases, Stephen has worked extensively with local First Nations to realize opportunities for First Nation business participation. A resident of Calgary, Stephen is a registered professional engineer with APEGA.

As a G7 nation, Canada is well positioned to leverage its strong academic institutions and the existing professional competencies of people in the technical industries such as oil & gas to bring ingenuity to both decreasing the carbon intensity of existing operations, and developing new technological solutions that can support nascent lower carbon industries such as a hydrogen economy.
