Bruce has 46 years of banking experience with a focus on lending to the oil and gas industry. After having spent 31 years with Royal Bank of Canada, Bruce joined ATB in July 2003 and took on the responsibility to help build ATB’s Financial Energy business and capabilities. He retired from the organization March 31, 2017, at which point he and his business associate Mark George formed EdgeMark Capital and Advisory Services Ltd. They specialize in advising entities related to their capital needs and sourcing either debt or equity on a fee for service basis.

Bruce has attained the ICD.D designation. He is a very active participant in community and church activities. He loves his role as a Calgary City team member with LeaderImpact. He serves as a Director for Calgary Health Trust and Chair of Peter Lougheed Centre Development Council. He chairs both boards of Aspen Family and Community Network and Canada Water NEXT Innovations Inc. Bruce also serves as a board member of Bumble Bees Venture Capital and is on the YWCA’s Campaign Advisory Committee.

Solar, wind, and biofuel used to be outside of our interest because we were so primary resource focused. This is changing, As an organization we are stepping in and doing more. I am proud to say that we are debt financing a wind farm, a solar plant, several biofuel projects, and an ethanol plant.
