Liz Brennan is the Manager of Climate Change and Carbon at Canfor where she supports Canfor’s ongoing journey towards achieving net-zero. Liz lead the development of Canfor’s climate change goals, targets and strategy, coordinates Canfor’s decarbonization planning initiatives, and manages the corporate GHG inventory. Liz was a Fellow with the EFL from 2021 – 2023.

Geoff is a commercial aviation professional and a professional engineer at the forefront of airline sustainability with more than 20 years of experience integrating aviation fuel procurement and logistics and environment and climate risk management, giving him a unique perspective in deploying sustainable aviation fuel and advancing sustainable air travel in Canada.

Ankit Mishra received a bilingual B.A. (French and English) with honors in mathematics from York University in 2011. He subsequently completed a Masters in International Economic Policy at Sciences Po Paris (2013), specializing in international energy and intelligence studies. Ankit’s early career spanned across the OECD, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and the Ontario Ministry of Energy, focusing on energy and economic policies in India, Europe, and Canada. 

In 2016, Ankit transitioned into technology, where he worked for various early-stage startups in the Bay Area and was part of the founding teams at both Pngme and Alariss Global, serving as Head of Growth. He is currently a Fellow at Energy Future Labs, Energy Contributor at Forbes and a Project Manager at Cycle Capital, leading the launch of Cycle Central, a climatetech innovation hub in Montreal. Ankit’s publications have appeared across leading media outlets in Canada and the U.S., including Forbes, CBC Canada, BNN Bloomberg, and Techcrunch.

Candice is the Vice President Corporate Affairs at Enhance, an Alberta-based carbon utilization and storage company with extensive experience in the planning and implementation of large-scale carbon capture and utilization projects (CCS) that permanently sequester CO2 emissions. She has over 15 years of experience in technology development and innovation in energy systems.

Candice is passionate about energy technologies, environmental performance and impact in communities. She holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and is registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA. 

Her connection with the EFL began in 2017 when she joined as a Fellow and she continues to connect as an Ambassador since 2022.

She is a recognized thought leader in her community and founded the Alberta Carbon Hub – a project designed to highlight the innovative steps Alberta companies are taking to solve climate change. She regularly volunteers with youth education opportunities like the Ten Peaks Innovation Alliance and Inside Education.
