Candice is the Executive Director for Regulatory Affairs & External Relations at Enhance Energy, an Alberta-based carbon management company currently sequestering 1.5 million tonnes of CO2 each year in Alberta’s geology permanently. She brings over 15 years of experience in technology development and innovation in energy systems. She has been a Fellow of the Energy Futures Lab from 2017 – 2022 and is excited to stay engaged with the Lab and the Fellows to accelerate an inclusive and equitable transition to a prosperous net-zero future. Candice is passionate about energy technologies, environmental performance and impact in communities.
She holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and is registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA. She has been recognized as a leading female innovator as part of the Alberta Chapter of SHEInnovates and as an energy industry influencer in the Young Women in Energy 2020 awards.
Candice is a thought leader in her community, volunteers with a number of STEM educational organizations, and founded the Alberta Carbon Hub – a collaborative group of companies working together to highlight how CCUS plays a role in our net zero future. Her family feels at home in Edmonton and Calgary and spends as much of their free time as possible exploring mountains by foot, by ski or by snowboard.
I am excited to see CCUS as a technology that lands in Alberta and Canada in a big way, but the opportunity to shape how this is done in a collaborative, inclusive and transparent way is something that the Lab has a big opportunity to influence.
